A movement to counter Big Labor's actions against secret ballot elections is mounting - aimed not at Congressional lobbying, but at amending state constitutions to protect the right to a secret ballot in ALL elections.

The simple amendment would guarantee that secret ballots be used in elections, including union organizing elections. Written by noted Constitutional scholar Clint Bolick from the Goldwater Institute it states:

"To preserve and protect the fundamental right of individuals to vote by secret ballot, where local, state or federal law requires elections for public office or ballot measures, or requires designations or authorizations for employee representation, the right of individuals to vote by secret ballot shall be guaranteed."

Its power comes from its clarity and simplicity. Recent public opinion polls attest to its support among all demographics, including 5-to-1 support among self-identified strong Democrats, Republicans, and Independents, midwestern and southern voters. No demographic shows less than a 3-to-1 support for the amendment.
